Continuing the graph posts, here's the latest polling data through yesterday. The Obama and McCain moving averages are still diverging, but not as quickly as before.

Here's the latest graph. The data comes from the General Election poll numbers at RealClearPolitics.com. The light lines are the raw numbers: the darker lines are a 10-poll moving average.

...if you count only those states Obama is leading by 6 or more points. If McCain picks up every single other state, it goes to the House of Representatives to break the tie -- which should translate to an Obama win, unless something goes very wrong with the House elections this year.

I updated the RCP graph with the past 16-or-so polls.

As a follower of Christ, as is presumably the person who gassed your children, I am deeply ashamed. Just for fun, I pulled their results into Excel and put a 10-poll trendline on them, to smooth out the variations a bit.

Chris Cinquemani over at Politicker ME doesn't think that the casino referendum on the ballot in November passes the "straight face test".

After all, if you actually read the referendum, instead of the summary, you see that it's giving a 10-year monopoly to this particular gaming company. I noticed that language myself when I was asked to sign it, so I passed.

Our government was formed 221 years ago today.
