News and Views with a Hint of Blue on Politics in the Great State of Maine

I've been trying, honest!

Our goal should be to get a Democrat in the White House in January. Which Democrat is of lesser importance, so I've been trying recently to avoid bashing Clinton here. However, she just made it pretty much impossible to avoid.

March 6, 2008:

Hillary Clinton today suggested Barack Obama had not met the commander-in-chief test.

"I think it's imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold, and I believe that I've done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that, and you'll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy...."

April 20, 2008:

Democrat Barack Obama today said that Republican John McCain would be an improvement over President George W. Bush, also a Republican.

"Either Democrat would be better than John McCain," said Obama, at the end of a town hall meeting in Reading, Pennsylvania, ahead of Tuesday's primary in that state. "And all three of us would be better than George Bush."

April 20, 2008 (later):

Clinton took umbrage with that assessment at a rally in Johnstown.

"We need a nominee who will take on John McCain, not cheer on John McCain," she said.

Does she think we're stupid, or just that we have a 5-minute attention span?
